Privacy Policy

Who we are
Froggyhop operates a cross-promotion network for indie-game sites at froggyhop.com. Site owners register, embed a one-line widget, and trade traffic with other registered sites. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site, the dashboard, or the embedded widget, and how we handle it.
Information we collect
Account data
When you register we store your email address and, if you sign in with Google or GitHub, the basic profile information those providers return (name and email). We keep records of the sites you register, including the URL and its host.
Click and traffic data
The network's currency is outbound clicks, so we record clicks that route through our redirect endpoint. To keep that count honest and prevent click fraud, we process technical signals from each click, including a one-way hashed form of the visitor's IP address (IPv6 addresses are reduced to a /64 network before hashing, and the hash is salted — we do not store raw IP addresses), the referring page, the user agent, and behavioral signals reported by the widget such as viewport size and interaction events. These signals feed automated rate-limiting and anomaly detection only.
Analytics
We use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data or track you across sites.
Abuse prevention
To protect the network against automated click fraud, the Froggyhop widget records lightweight, non-identifying signals about how a link was clicked — for example how long the page was open, whether the tab was visible, and coarse measures of interaction such as counts of mouse movement, scrolling, and whether the click came from a touch device.
These signals are first-party (no third-party CAPTCHA or external service is involved) and contain no pointer coordinates, no keystroke content, and nothing that identifies you. They are used only to score whether a click looks genuine and are discarded shortly after.
Cookies
We use a strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in to your account (session authentication). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use information
- To create and manage your account and registered sites.
- To operate the widget and credit outbound clicks.
- To detect and prevent click fraud, abuse, and automated traffic.
- To understand aggregate, anonymous usage of the site.
- To communicate with you about your account when needed.
Service providers
We share data only with the providers needed to run the service:
- Google and GitHub — optional sign-in providers, only if you choose them.
- Plausible — cookieless, anonymous analytics.
- Microsoft Azure — database and infrastructure hosting.
We do not sell your personal data.
Data retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. Click-level signals are retained only as long as needed for fraud prevention and aggregate reporting, then deleted or anonymized by our scheduled cleanup jobs. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
